Things Game Developers Are Tired Of Hearing

We say our society is becoming progressive and much more accepting day by day. We say our society is now open to trying new things and understanding our professions, regardless of what we do. Well, I do agree some of them are genuinely trying, but there are a bunch of people sitting there with a long list of the ‘typical career questions’ especially when it comes to people catering to the creative or not the mainstream field. Here, I’m talking about all our super talented game developers!

Well, when I say gamers, I definitely don’t include people playing games with their lives. That’s another level of gaming. There’s always a long list of typical and stupid questions that every game developer is tired of hearing.

The list is kinda short, but the discussion that follows every question is endless. Ready to nod your heads in agreement to these questions? Here we go:

1. You make games? Cool! But what do you do full time?

“You make games, wow! That is cool, but I asked about what do you do for a living? You know, like a full time job?” This is my freaking full time job! And guess what, it is way better than your 9-9 desk jobs!

2. How much do you earn? Or wait, do you even earn?

Nope, we do it all for free! Money, what’s that shit?  I obviously earn through this and I earn better than what you do by laughing on your boss’s lame jokes.

3. How many downloads of your game?

None, that’s none of your business! We do have a decent amount of downloads and we strive hard for each download. We put in our blood and sweat for downloads, not for this question!

4. Haywire reviews

Okay, so this is my favourite part! Knowing a game developer very closely, I recently read reviews on one of his games. People do have a lot of time to write some haywire reviews and believe me or not, not even a single one was related to the game. Wow!

5. I hate Unity Games!

Okay, for the last time, Unity is a goddamn SOFTWARE. It gives us game developers a platform to develop games. If you hate the game, blame the game developer, not the platform.

Gamers, we feel you and we’ve got your back! Tag a game developer who can relate to all of these and if you are a game developer, you shouldn’t miss out on a wonderful and a must read book written by one of the leading game developers Nikhil Malankar named – How To Market Your Game And Make Money. You can now buy the same on Amazon. And if you love the book, do leave some good reviews on Amazon and in the comment section below.
