Amidst all of these controversies of Tanushree Dutta, Nana Patekar and Vivek Agnihotri, when women coming up and sharing their #MeToo stories, we had a trend of men sharing their #NotAllMen stories. However, one such incident happened on social media which made people question the Bollywood Actress Sonam Kapoor’s basic knowledge about feminism and how does she treat her fans.
Apparently, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja accused a twitter user as a harasser just because he stated an environmental fact and won a victim card.
So here’s how she applied for the victim card:
Step 1: She uploaded a story about the usual and never ending Mumbai traffic:
Step 2: A Twitter user named Anant Vasu tweeted about the same story something like this:
Step 3: Mrs. Ahuja replied in an extremely sensible manner:
Celebrities like Sonam Kapoor call themselves an influencer and this is how they’d like to influence people? She has gotten the meaning of feminism so wrong. I agree, celebrities cannot travel in public transport for obvious reasons, but calling someone a molestor, a harraser, for no rhyme or reason is absolutely rubbish! Feminism is not only screaming for women rights, but is also about not demeaning the other gender. Do we have to begin from the basics again?
When it comes to Vasu, fellow Twitter users showed him their support and stood by him. Thank goodness, we have some sane comments that made absolute sense, unlike Kapoor’s response.
Congratulations Sonam, along with two strong societal surnames and a lifetime nepotism membership, you’ve successfully earned a typical Bollywood Victim Card.
