Today as I was on my way to work, I was randomly browsing through my Instagram, looking for something interesting than Shahid Kapoor having a baby boy or Malaika Arora Khan’s new item number. That is exactly when I stumbled upon something huge, something interesting, something for which we all have been fighting for since ages!
You got me right- India has finally gotten rid of Section 377! Yassss, you guys, you can now officially bang whoever you want to!
In a historic judgement, the Supreme Court of India (SC) today ruled that consensual adult gay sex is not a crime saying sexual orientation is natural and people have no control on it.
This judgement has defanged the British-era Section 377 of Indian Penal Code (IPC), which deemed that gay sex is a punishable offence. Not any more, all thanks to our constant fights for our rights.
“LGBT Community has same rights as of any ordinary citizen. Respect for individual choice is the essence of liberty; LGBT community possesses equal rights under the constitution. Criminalising gay sex is irrational and indefensible,” said Chief Justice Dipak Misra, who headed the five judge bench hearing the case.
I was extremely surprised when I got to know about this. Not because I never thought India would be a liberal country, but because love won. See how Indian LGBTQ community celebrates Supreme Court’s #Section377 verdict.
Love, in whatever form, shape, size, colour, caste, creed, should never be judged. Today, 6th September’18 can be termed as a new dawn of the era for India. Fuck you Section 377, we’ll fuck whoever we want to, for #LoveIsLove! Ab aur kitne achche din chahiye?
Now if we have t see anything, it is going to be how we Indians change our mentality. What are your views on the same? For more such content, follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for more such posts and you can also download our app to stay updated: Tell Me Nothing.
