Usually women are ashamed and embarrassed to discuss about their nether region just because they think it might be awkward to talk about it in public. All we know that vagina and vulva aren’t much appreciated as much as they should, so people think that beauty trend can make a change. According to Café Mom, women are celebrating their vaginas by painting vulvas on their nails, making it the next big trend in nail art. “Vagina nails” are an aptly titled trend sweeping the nail nation, and it is graphic AF.
Using the hashtag #vaginanails, Instagram users are sharing their designs, and that said, some of them are pretty creative. There have been odd beauty trends of late – but this one really is nailing it on social media. Not satisfied with glitter bombing their vagina, people are now getting vulva manicures.
Asa Bree, who is of course a nail artist herself, used five different shades of pink gel polish to create the manicure, along with a pretty pearl placed on top of it, as first reported by BuzzFeed News. She’s also the proud owner of nail salon ‘Fingerbang’ in Portland and supporter of local artist T Ngu, whose shop ‘Project Object’, features handmade goods from local artists and focuses on supporting designers who are women, LGBTQ, and people of color. After talking to a client about vagina-inspired nails, Bree studied medical models of vulvas online to create a realistic design. It then took her two hours to bring the nail art to life, complete with different shades for the lips and contours.
The nail art done by Bree was spot on and she shared the picture on Instagram soon enough and later started received appraisals but there are many who deemed her down as well. In response to the haters, Bree told Buzzfeed News, “It’s a female body part, and I don’t think it’s anything to be ashamed of. It’s definitely a conversation piece that focuses the light on so many issues” she added. “From art, women’s rights, acceptance, self-love, and learning to love another person for who they are and not what you want them to be.” We understand you, Bree, and we completely support you with this. Just so you know, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen vagina-inspired nail art. ‘Romper’ notes that “tampon nails” started trending as recently as July when artist Annelies Hofmeyr, who created the nails in order to help normalize menstruation.
Something out of the box, the other nails show sperms as well..
