Don’t we just love our grandparents? Old age is the second childhood they say and rightly so because like childhood; old age comes with its own set of challenges and charm.
Today we share with you the colorful life of the grey-haired squad, which will make you hug your grandparents tight.
1) Priceless pronunciations’
It was a rather boring day in my hostel, when I got a video call from mummy and my grandpa’s nostrils popped on the mobile screen, it took me a minute to explain Dadu (grandpa) to hold the phone in a decent perceivable angle. After our regular ‘how is everything going’ chat, he showed me a big piece of cake and joyfully announced today we are celebrating your parent’s university (anniversary). Dadi (grandma) joined the conversation telling me how she misses me when she eats manchuriam (Manchurian)
Lucky are those who get an opportunity to hear, hear again and hear again and again their struggles and their life experiences.
3) Adorable smiles
They smile less ( for reasons like the dearth of meaningful lyrics in movies, kam vali bai’s (house help) holiday, no new happening in neighbor’s life, grandkids not getting married by 23, etc) but when they do, they look gorgeous! (you can also see traces of teeth if you are lucky)
4) Their skills
There is nothing in this world they don’t have a solution to. From bargaining, to crisis management , to opening an irritating knot on the plastic bag, we know who the pro is!
5) 3 AM Friend
As age increases, sleep decreases. So don’t be scared if you see your grandparents comfortably sitting and chatting at 3 in the morning! (It can also cause a heart attack when you return from a sneak out or even when you are half asleep- it is SCARY, believe you me.)
