Few Unknown Facts Of The Past And The Present

Fact? What is a fact? A fact is a thing that has known to be true which can be used as an evidence or as a part of a report or can be displayed as a new. But what about a few facts which you have never heard or thought of?

Here are a few facts lost in the past and a few once of the present.

1. Hitler’s plan for Moscow after capturing it during WWII was to kill its residents and replace it with a lake. Wow, what a thought!

2. Salma Hayek as a teenager was known for performing miracles and wished for breasts. Some wishes do come true!

3. There is a teddy bear in every Dutch police car in case something troubling happens to a child.

4. The company that owned the World Trade Center had a meeting scheduled on the 9th of November 2001 on the 88th floor to discuss the measures to be taken in the event of a terrorist activity. The meeting didn’t happen as one of the Board of Directors couldn’t attend.

5. Officially, the longest war in history was between the Netherlands and the Isles of Scilly, which lasted from 1651 to 1986. There were no casualties.

6. Albert Einstien for his exuberant work was offered the role of Israels second President in 1952, but he denied.

7. Napoleon was once attacked by rabbits and the attack lasted for a span of 38 minutes. Wait, what?

8. In 1912, a Paris orphanage held a raffle to raise money—the prizes were live babies.

9. Franklin D. Roosevelt once accidentally ran into a naked Winston Churchill. When Roosevelt apologized, Churchill said “The Prime Minister of Great Britain has nothing to hide from the President of the United States.”

10. Adolf Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin were nominated for  Nobel Peace Prize.

11. In 1856, Abraham Lincoln gave a speech so captivating that every single reporter forgot to take notes. There is no transcript of the speech in existence and the content could only be guessed at. The speech is known as “Lincoln’s Lost Speech”.

13. Charles Darwin’s pet tortoise, Harriet, died in 2006 yet Darwin died in 1882. Steve Irwin owned the same tortoise from 1987 until her end.

14. Roper invented the eponymous steam-powered bicycle and died in a crash during one of its early speed trials.

15. The Prime Minister of New Zealand went to see a doctor and a vet to confirm if he is a regular human being or a shape shifting lizard from space.

16. The youngest girl to be divorced was 10 years old.

17. Spoons cause more number of deaths than shark attacks. Per year 6 people die because of shark attacks but 10 people die because they swallow a spoon. Who would actually do that?

18. The lion used in the Metro Goldwyn Mayer logo, killed its trainer the next day after the shooting.

19. Alfred Nobel the founder of Nobel Prize has kept the Nobel Prize for all the fields of life except for Mathematics as his wife ran away with a mathematician.

20. Ever year on 5th of August the Mars Curiosity Rover celebrates the anniversary of its arrival by singing the Happy birthday song to itself.
