The beloved city of Mumbai is a place where where diversity and growth go hand in hand. Amidst all the struggling people there are just some things in Mumbai that only a Mumbaikar have to go through. And one such thing is the types of people he/she finds in Mumbai’s most famous Mumbai local trains. So today we are counting the types of people you are bound to find in local trains. So let’s roll!
Note: This is a sarcastic article which is NOT to be taken seriously because its made for fun 🙂 We love everyone!
1) The Resting Bitch Face Struggler.
It isn’t uncommon to see gloomy tired faces whenever we go in the train. Mumbai is a place where people struggle on a daily basis to make their dreams come true but the process also takes a toll on them. However their perseverance is what makes this whole thing special. Sometimes they fight with you but many a times they will help you. We salute them! However their Resting Bitch Face a.k.a. RBF may make your mood gloomy.
2) The Bhajan Walas.
So these are the people who sing bhajans in the trains. You can hear them right from the station and know that they are worshiping gods from the train itself. But trust me it is kind of enjoyable when you are travelling on a daily basis.
3) The Aunties Who Will Push You With Their Huge Bags.
These are the most annoying kind of people you will find. In the ladies compartment this is a common occurrence specially during the peak hours. There are less women in the trains as compared to their huge bags. And you are bound to get decked once in a while atleast during the peak hours.
4) Virar Train Army.
Do we even need to explain this? Anyone familiar with Mumbai will know how much of a task it is to even step foot in Virar trains. There are chances to you becoming the next Einstein but there are no chances of getting into a Virar train specially during the peak hours because the Virar Army is always ready to push, pull and kill to get into that train.
5) The First Class Aristocrats.
These are the annoying people (not all though) who think that getting the first class pass in train is equivalent of travelling through a jet. Like dude, no, you are still in a train please cut that attitude.
6) Those People Who Stand Near The Door For No Reason.
Even if the train is empty these people are so paranoid of missing the destination that they will stand near the door just to be safe. They don’t understand that they are blocking other people from entering and nor do they care because for them that one station (their destination) is the most important thing in the world.
7) The Tired Sleepers
You will always find these hard working people sleeping in the trains, especially after office hours. It isn’t uncommon for people to travel from Virar to Churchgate or switching from Harbour to Central and even Western line on a daily basis and so much so that it takes a toll on their routine. The struggle is real people.
8) The Walking Vendors In Mumbai Local Trains
These are the poor people who sell little things and snacks for a living in the train. It is needless to say that local trains are not only transporting commuters but also providing jobs to these guys. These vendors sell little things everyday for cheap prices and earn a living.
So local trains transport people of various kinds everyday and there are so many things that we couldn’t include in this post but do know that these trains are a blessing to Mumbaikars as they make travelling easier in this city. Mumbai local trains carry around 2.2 billion people annually which is more than some countries’ population. And with such population and diversity you are bound to find very different types of people everyday. You get to learn something about people every time you travel in local trains.
