Things Indian Parents Say That Annoy The Crap Out Of Us

We all love and respect our parents and will go to any lengths to make them proud of us. But sometimes there are just some phrases used by our parents that just annoy the crap out of us. Here are some commonly used phrases used by Indian parents:

1) Beta, Shaadi kab karoge?

No matter where we go, whether it’s a family function or just a family gathering, this simple question is always asked by our parents and in any situation. It’s like the main goal of their entire existence is to get us married (eye-roll).

2) Humare time me aisa hota tha

Admit it, every Indian has heard this dialogue atleast once in their life. Our parents’ just love telling us stories about ‘their time’ and how things used to be during ‘their days’. Well its’ not exactly a bad thing considering that we learn a lot from their experiences. But still, it’s a very commonly used dialogue.

3) logon ko khana khane nai milta duniya me aur tumlog ko sab kuch milta hai to bhi itne natak hai.

I remember always hearing this same thing again and again when I threw tantrums. Did you too? Comment below. Our parents love reminding us how privileged we are to have everything in our lives, and we are grateful for that mom and dad!

4) Ek baar bol diya na, bas baat khatam.

This one is a personal favorite of mine because they always have the last say in any situation or argument. Hence, this dialogue has become a popular one in our lives.

5) Kya karna hai aage life me?

The dreadful question that we all expect to be asked atleast once in our life is this: Kya karna hai aage life me?

We are always worrying about our career path and so are our parents. Hence, this dreadful question.

6) Beta khana khaya?

Whether you are at home, office, college, school, Mars or Jupiter, our parents (especially our mums) will definitely call and ask us this question. They are constantly worried about our eating habits and meals and that’s one of the reason we love them!

7) Main teri maa hoon beta

Yes mom we know that and we love you for the same!
