Holi is one of my favourite festivals and its super fun to colour each other for no reason. But the most irritating part is, once you’re done playing holi, the colours suddenly love your body. They are so nasty that you cannot get rid of them easily. That’s why we’re here right at your service. Here are simple 10 best ways to remove resistant holi colours from every part of your body. Scroll down for more.
1. Rinse And Wash With Cold Water : Holi
Make sure never to use hot water as it will solidify the colour. An hour prior to playing holi, apply cold cream on your skin and coconut oil to your hair as it will help to facilitate a protective layer from the colours, making it easier to rinse away later.
2. Egg And Curd : Holi
For your hair, applying egg yolk or curd and leaving it for about 45 minutes before using a mild shampoo is also an effective method to rid your hair of holi colour and its damaging chemicals.
3. Hair Therapy The Following Day : Holi
The following day, 2 teaspoons fenugreek (methi) seeds, shikakai powder 3 cups – water, and amla powder should be used to make a boiled mixture with which you can shampoo your hair. Post this procedure, apply henna to your hair.
4. Grandma’s Home Remedies : Holi
Make a paste of besan with milk or yoghurt, sweet oil, and rose water, and apply it on your skin. After five minutes, rinse your face gently with a delicate soap and water.
5. Coconut Oil : Holi
Using coconut oil on the face before soap also aids in removing the colour, as does the rubbing of lemon wedges on the skin with oil and wheat flour mixture.
6. Careful With Face : Holi
Use soaked amchur powder and avoid excessively washing your face as this can lead to drying and irritation.
7. Multani Mitti Treatment
Ubtan is also helpful for this, along with hour-long pre-soaked Multhani Mitti. When the pack dries, rinse it off to remove the colour.
To nullify itchiness, use a combination of glycerine with rose water on your face and rinse it with luke warm water.
A cleanser that has lemon and aloe vera in it is also highly potent to remove colour. Also, Cetaphil cleansers and antiseptic cream application are capable of this.
10. No Bleach
Avoid getting a bleach or facial for at least a week so that your skin can normally obtain balance.
If a bit of colour stays on your skin, flaunt it with style. Because, Bura Naa Mano, HOLI HAIN!! Wishing all of you a very happy and safe holi.
