Tell us something about yourself
Well, I am a musician. I love singing classical music along with Bollywood. I am totally into Bollywood and Sonu Nigam, is someone whom I look up to.
What have you done professionally?
Well, I am a BMM graduate from Thakur College, Mumbai. I have also been trained in music from Swarnabhoomi School of Music.
Do you come from a musical background?
Not at all. In fact, I am the first person in my family to opt music as a career. I come from a family with IITians background.
How did you get into music?
I really don’t know. When I was a kid, I used to sing well. That’s when my parents insisted me to join some music classes. I have loved singing ever since I have understood the concept of music.
Why did you not choose a career in BMM or opt for IIT?
I did my graduation just for the heck of a degree. I was never into studies and I never was in favor of the concept of working 9-6. I cannot work under anyone. Plus, music interested me more than anything else.
How supportive your family was when it came to choosing music as a career?
My family is very supportive. Now that I’m making money out of music, they are all the more supportive.
What or who inspired you to make your own acoustic music videos?
Well, my friends came up to me with this concept of making our own acoustic music videos. Two of my best friends, Kunal Pandit and Piyush Shankar were extremely supportive and confident and that’s what gave me a boost about it.
Tell us something about your jamming group
Oh! They are one crazy set of people. I have some of my very good and talented friends like Vineet Arora, who is a drummer and Arbaaz Khan, who is a guitarist, again. We do a lot of jamming sessions together. It is super fun recreating something new and fresh with them.
How has music changed your life?
Music has always been my life. Nothing has and nothing can ever change.
How many instruments can you play?
I am a guitarist. I can play a bit of keyboard, as well. An instrument that I’d love to learn would be flute.
