In an age where unconventional business ideas are becoming more and more successful, we got in touch with Amit Huddar. At 23, he runs his own company “SoftDust” and is a self made multi-millionaire. Here are some interesting conversations with Amit Huddar on how he achieved this level of success at such a young age.
So, Amit Huddar, tell us about how it all started
It all started 2 years before in month of December when Android Wear has at hype. Shiny, classy Android Wear. I took 1 month and made a course on android wear and it was smash hit I made some couple of thousand dollars by just selling the course on Udemy.
It must be feeling quite rewarding that so many people learnt from you right? How was the experience?
Great! People from California, Infosys etc said me to make more of it.
What did you do after that?
After that I made some other technical courses on udemy of which I had idea but I was not yet satisfied with what I created it was boring for me at some extent to create video course on coding. But then I came up with a crazy idea for a course which would sell like hot cakes. However, I had doubt “is it legal?“. I posted whole idea as it is on Udemy Studio.
What was the idea of the course?
I had written “I want to make video course where I will teach hacking facebook, gmail, wifi, etc any password protected account, will udemy publish it?” I got tens of comments in few minutes bashing me, opposing me and because of that I was completely discouraged.
And then I had a one on one discussion with Udemy regarding this course and they clearly said “not possible“. But I still wanted to make this course and sell it. So I came up with android app which I created myself and I sold video in app as in app purchase. I got hundreds of downloads and also got first in app purchase from London. Money was coming in and then some more trouble was waiting for me. The app got banned by play store for policy violations
Did you do anything to tackle this situation?
Yes, I changed name of app so that they accept it, even changed description etc. Resubmitted 10 times or more but got banned each and every time. Then I went back to Udemy asked them what changes I should do so that they publish my course. They asked for counter measures for all my hacking tricks and so I made some 10 extra videos, Udemy accepted them and course was published. Then one after the other I made multiple courses on hacking.
What was the impact of this effort you put in?
Big companies like Stackskill, Stack Commerce, Skill Share, Chalk Street started approaching me after that and I was earning couple of lakhs every month.
We even started provided security consultancy for web companies to secure their websites along with bug bounty full time. We were hacking whatsapp, facebook and many more platforms
Tell us about your team at SoftDust and how many people are associated with it?
I have hired half dozen to do just hacking video editing. I spend so much on salary every month that one earns that much in one year in MNC. We do research work, security research work and when you keep people around you happy they work even more better.
What are your sales through your online courses you offer?
A course by me named “WiFi hacking with Kali” which is just 1 hour course has 15,000+ students on Udemy and it is one among best selling course on stack commerce with 11,000+ paid purchases. So basically I am getting tons of money from couple of platforms every month for doing what I love.
Many do say that my courses are illegal but even whatsapp collects our data, facebook as well. We have to just find out some way to make it legal at and reach people and we are helping people getting aware of hacking. We are even helping to secure. So that’s all, I am in middle of my journey, we are basically doing research work on security
What is your further vision?
I have aim to do more research work not just on web security but also battery technology and un-conventional energy like solar, wind, etc. Research is most satisfying business I feel.
Any message for Tell Me Nothing readers?
